This was excellent to give our electric fireplace a finished look. We originally thought we'd have to do something with wood trim and were worried it'd look hokey - luckily we remembered seeing these when we first ordered the fireplace! This really made an amazing difference and it looks great. It clicks into place but also sits out about half a cm to allow air to get in and around the unit (which the units with heaters require). We're using this with the ClassicFlame 33II310GRA 33" Infrared Quartz Fireplace Insert with Safer Plug which we also LOVE and recommend (I turn it on every day because it creates such a cozy feel in the room).
