The Good: This is a very solid and rigid mat suitable for a rolling office chair over thick home carpeting. In selecting a floor mat the weight of the product is a good indicator of how rigid it will be, and at 28 lbs this one is a brute. Much better that a $50 mat which I found to be too soft and thus returned. Also in the plus column, this one comes in a large box and is easy to unroll and use almost immediately.On the Negative side: The “SuperGrip Studs” are so small, rounded and ineffective that they might as well not exist at all! The mat slides easily and creeps across the carpet through the day until it hits something solid. An utterly worthless design and near fatal flaw for a chair mat intended for use on thick carpeting.That said, I’d prefer to fight with the wondering around rather than sinking chair wheels, but for a high priced product the performance is frustrating and it seems could easily have been designed to be SO much better.Edit: Well after having enough of the mat sliding around I have had good results screwing it directly to the sub-floor with a few deck screws. Probably not something that can be done in every installation but the mat is thick enough that I’m not worried about it tearing and this has definitely solved the wondering around issue!
