After googling "best carpenter ant bait" and watching people's testimonies on YouTube about this bait, I now have both this Advance Carpenter Ant Bait and the Advance 375A bait for all ants. Both baits are the same product with different textures. (I recommend an ebook I just read on Amazon that will only take 20 minutes or so to read titled: "Yikes! I've Got Carpenter Ants! A home owner's guide to solving carpenter ant infestations." by David Kiley. Wow, so helpful and informative about carpenter behavior and the strategy to get rid of them, which actually isn't that hard! This is a must-read if you have carpenter ants in your house. He recommended this ant bait as well.) Back to my review on this bait: I used this Advance Carpenter Bait on the carpenter ants in my yard, they all consumed it, and it wiped them out! People have reported that the Advance 375A didn't work on carpenter ants, but experts say that ants will look for proteins, which is what this bait is, when their queen needs protein for her eggs and larvae, and when she doesn't need protein, they'll look for carbohydrates, such as melons, which is where the sweet liquid ant bait comes into play. We purchased property with sandy soil and our yard was infested with all types of ants, including carpenters around the buildings, in the trees, and in fallen logs. We could hear them boring through the fallen logs and saw their sawdust piles. I sprinkled this carpenter bait around the logs, trees, and buildings. They took all of the bait each night, and within a week of replenishing bait each night (guess I should have placed more from the get-go), all noise and activity had stopped everywhere. It was amazing. For the people where the carpenters didn't take to the 375A, it must have been at the time that the ants wanted carbs vs proteins. The Advance 375A worked effectively wherever I used it on the smaller ants. I sprinkled it around nests in the yard, observed the ant behavior, and all the ants were feverish for the bait. They loved it. Within a day, most nests were inactive. Some straggling ants took a bit longer, but I had noticed those ants had been hauling dead bugs into their nests, so perhaps they hadn't yet eaten the bait that they'd hauled into their nest as well. Obviously, the timing was right for me; the ants wanted protein at the time of using this product. Don't be discouraged and think the bait doesn't work, for it truly does when the ants are eating their proteins. I highly recommend this product!
