When the oil pressure gauge on my Supercharged 5.0L Coyote powered Cobra Factory Five replica began to give me erratic readings, I suspected that the oil pressure sensor I used may be the culprit, I have an AEM stand alone ECU along with a CD-7 digital dash system and remembered that when I built the car I used a non-AEM generic sensor for the oil pressure while the rest were from AEM.I was skeptical at first but after downloading and reading the spec sheet it's clear that this sensor is actually a good replacement for the AEM, in reality this sensor is actually better since it has a higher accuracy of + - .15% Linearity FS vs 1. % and a higher operating temperature range of 125C vs 105C. This sensor also uses a higher grade 316L stainless steel construction through-out vs a combination of 304L and 316L from AEM.Regarding the wiring I contacted the manufacture (Phoenix Sensors) but they could not tell me if the pigtail connectors where wired the same as the AEM, they could only tell me how their sensors were wired, so after studying both the AEM and Phoenix sensor wiring diagrams I decided to order this sensor. Here is what if figured out:The Poenix sensor is identical in total length and uses the same Packard 3-pin as the AEM except that the ground and power wires are reversed, the signal wire in the same location so getting this sensor to work is really a simple matter of reversing the polarity of the positive and negative terminals. You can re-pin the existing AEM connector to work if you have the tool or you can simply cut off the AEM 3 pin and soldered in the pigtail that comes with the sensor, either way will work.Once Installed I fired up the engine and the oil pressure gauge without hesitation read correctly. For a difference of about $70.00 and a small modification to the wiring I would say that this was a successful installation.Hope this helps others.
