The instructions say you just need a screw driver and mallet to assemble this desk, but you absolutely must use power tools. The screw holes are not large enough and they're barely started in the desktop. I got frustrated and abandoned the assembly. I opted instead to just use the desktop, which is quite sturdy despite being made of particle board. I supported the desktop at both ends with two small filing cabinets.
