I was in tears Thursday morning because I hadn't gotten any decent sleep all week. I had a bad case of insomnia this past week and it was driving me nuts. I'm a very active person, and my job requires a lot of patience and physical activity (I work with 22 kids) so sleep is critical to my performance at work. I was only getting about 5 hours of sleep a night and it had been up and down in quality for a month or so. I ordered this Thursday morning being utterly fed up with the situation (I don't have much money, but I needed this and have been putting it off)- I was so happy it came to me Saturday, early in the afternoon (thank you Amazon Prime- worth it!!).I've only had my mattress for 1 1/2 years- but it was a gift and it wasn't the best made quality :( Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty mattress and the gifter had no idea that the mattress would begin to sag in the middle despite it being brand new when they gave it to me).I'm only 100lbs- and there was a visible dip in the center of the mattress after such a period of use- and regular mattress turning to prevent wear in one place of the mattress. I have been tossing and moving all week because of the dip and how hard the mattress began to feel in the middle of it.I placed a 2" book under the mattress- and the dip instantly became less noticeable- visually and physically.But I still needed more comfort- which is why I bought this.It's very comfortable: it's soft and cushiony, without being overly squishy and I slept 11 hours the first night it was on my bed. I had 3 dreams that night and after tracking my sleep, I saw that I had 94% 'sleep quality' with 4 total sleep cycles- a huge difference from my usual 40-80%. I just hope this trend stays consistent.I'm glad I got the 2" topper because I knew I'd sink in the bed with a 3" topper, and it would feel like sleeping in pudding. This is a nice happy-medium- it definitely makes a noticeable difference, but you won't sink in the bed as soon as you lay on it.It only took about 5 minutes for the foam to completely unroll and puff up- I gave it 10 hours instead of 24 because I was dying to have a proper night's sleep. It lost what little smell it had after 2-3 hours laying out on the couch. Amazing- the last pad I had back in 2014 took a whole day to lose the heavy chemical smell and would drop pieces of foam everywhere when I first got it. This pad had none of that fuss! It had almost no smell, and there was no issue with the foam.Overall this is a pretty great mattress topper- only a few tiny discrepancies- but for the price, this is a worthy investment!It feels cool to the touch, but it's also hearty/weighty- it doesn't feel airy and cheap. However, I urge that you be careful while moving it if it's unrolled, because if you try to drag it you will notice that it will start to rip because of the force being put on it and the dragging weight on the foam.I folded and picked it up instead of dragging it to my room after it was done airing out.It also won't fit perfectly under your normal sheets because, yes, you are adding 2" to the height of the mattress- so if you want it to fit easily I would suggest getting deep-pocket sheets. It fits fine under normal sheets, but it's not an easy feat to get them up and over those extra 2".It normally takes me 5 minutes to put my fitted sheet back on my bed after washing- this time it took 15 minutes of struggling lolSo to combat this I sleep on a full-sized flat quilt with a full-sized blanket over my body (and a sheet in under the blanket if I get cold) that way I don't have to wash the fitted sheet every week. Mattress > Mattress topper > Fitted Sheet > Soft Quilt > Flat Sheet > Blanket.I honestly like the way it makes my bed look and feels now- it almost looks like a queen sized bed because of it's new height, and it lost that younger platform style look it had. I'm diggin' the more elegant look my room has now - all because of a simple added mattress pad.I also love sleeping on it because it makes me feel more up high and I get a better view out of my window.Overall, I'm very pleased. I'm a conscious, but quality type of shopper- I'm always looking for an amazing product, at an affordable price- especially since my salary doesn't allow for much wiggle room. This topper fits the bill very well- it seems to be of great quality so far, and it didn't break the bank completely. I'm glad to be able to sleep now without tossing around for an hour.I will update if anything changes!
