Had some initial with this pump but they resolved themselves after a little use. I mounted the pump to the engine and pressure washer chassis, tightened everything up, and tried to start it, but the engine had such a load on it that I could barely pull it by hand. After loosening and tightening the three mounting bolts several times, I was able to spin the engine more freely. Not sure what the issue was there - something must have been in a bind. After that initial frustration, and once the engine was started, the pump's unloader valve would not release when I let go of the trigger on the gun - so all that load on the engine would stall it out, unless I kept the water flowing from the gun. I stalled the engine 8-10 times while trying to figure that issue out. Eventually, the unloader started working - sort of.The next issue started occurring after the unloader got un-stuck and allowed me to idle the engine. While not spraying, the pump would "cycle" or "engage" every 10 seconds or so, making a weird chirping sound and briefly loading down the engine. This would last about a second, then recover, and then do it again 10 seconds later. By the time I finished spraying the car, this weird cycle had moved out to about every 30 seconds. Once I started spraying a second car, the issue seemed to resolve itself. Now everything seems to be working the way it should.I'm not sure what the actual issue was - maybe something was over-tight inside the pump; maybe it sat on the shelf for too long and the assembly lube dried up - who knows.I was also disappointed to see this item was manufactured in China. I guess AR makes their higher-end horizontal pumps in Italy but their consumer-grade vertical pumps in China? Either way, it does appear to be a higher quality product than the piece of junk generic pump that came on the pressure washer, and I hope it lasts me quite a while. At least when it does fail, AR sells rebuild kits, unlike the manufacturer of the failed pump I replaced. This pump went on a 1998 Campbell Hausfeld pressure washer with a 6.0 HP Briggs & Stratton flathead vertical shaft engine (7/8" shaft). I have not attached a gauge to measure the actual output PSI, but performance seems on par with the other consumer-type pressure washers I have used.I am rating this product "3 stars" because of the above mentioned issue with the unloader valve; and the fact that it's made in China leads me to not quite fully trust it.I copied the model number from my old pump exactly to order this one... Unfortunately, while it looked the same and the bolts "sort of" lined up, it was faced 180° the wrong direction to work on my pressure washer. For your reference, it is a troy bilt 020489 -01.3 stars because it did work fine, but only after I made it work by literally spinning the engine around backwards and drilling new motor mounts. Why the same model number with two exactly opposite orientations?Installed it on my power washer a couple years ago and it still works like new! It has good pressure and is simple to install. Haven't had a single problem with this pump. I have always winterized the pump every winter with Briggs and Stratton pump saver.Just what I needed to get my Craftsman pressure washer with a Honda engine running again. Took me less than 30 minutes to switch out the pumps. This pump was a perfect fit and direct replacement. It appeared and operated on par with the original pump. If your PW pump fails don't bother trying to rebuild it, you'll be waisting your time. Just bolt on a replacement pump and go.Took my power washer to the shop they said it wasn't fixable in which found this and solved my problem! Works very well and wouldn't complain about the price on this saved me a lot!Watch carefully for fitMakes noise when pressure washer trigger is released. May try changing oil in pump.Utiliser pour remplacer la vieille pompe en aluminium. Elle fonctionne encore mieux que mon original en aluminium.Si le modèle vous convient, allez d’y. Assurez vous que le modèle convient bien.Pump works great, but mailing was slow,5 days at Texas depot ????
