I am really happy with the Poolin sewing machine so far. I am a beginner at sewing but I wanted a machine that I could grow with and not have to upgrade after I got the basics down. I will be sewing mainly to mend and extend the life of my family's clothing but as I hopefully get better will surely try to challenge myself more. The machine has all the features I can foresee myself needing like auto threading, which is super easy, double needle which I haven't tried yet, reverse function, good LED light and foot pedal, nice accessory drawer, nice assortment of included presser feet and accessories (I thought were missing until I checked in the drawer :)), plenty of stitch options and ways to modify them per material/preference, and very wide 'throat' for if and when I start feeding in bulky items to sew. It seems to be well made and must have significant metal in the frame as it is fairly heavy, so it also sits firm while sewing. The external appearance/design is really nice and aesthetically pleasing, understated yet not utilitarian at all, nor too "cute." The instructions are well written and very helpful and I didn't need to consult YouTube or anything to get it running for the first time and amazingly I seemed to have remembered from my first attempt how to thread the machine as there are also little helper inscriptions nearby each step's area. I will be keeping the instruction manual handy as I continue to learn as it contains ample tips and tricks I can integrate over time. Packaging was great, no complaints at all there and shipping was quick. While I am a beginner and have relevant expectations, I do have generally high expectations for product and customer service quality and can say that the Poolin team has done an amazing job in both areas. I had to contact support at one point and had a very positive experience speaking with a member of their staff who was responsive and kind. While Poolin has a relatively small market presence here in the US compared to Brother and Singer, I wanted to give them a shot since the price to feature ratio was superior and it seems they have a larger commercial business line overseas that I assumed has given them enough expertise in the industry to at least create a comparable product and be motivated through product and service to win market share, which so far has proven correct. Since receiving it a few weeks ago I have patched a ripped pair of PJs and mended a hole in the pocket of some sweatpants and had a great time doing so and look forward to working down my list of clothing items that need some long overdue TLC.
