My Thinkpad has only one Thunderbolt 4 port, and it is also used for power/charging, so I wanted a way to use TB4 while operating from mains power. This dock is the right solution. It provides plenty of power, and all the features work, but I did need to install the DisplayLink driver in order to use (any of) the video ports. Fortunately the drivers are available for Linux, which is my OS of choice.I don't think it's a problem with the dock, but Linux has some issues with hot-plugging PCIe devices. Things work great with the computer booted with the dock connected, and the TB4 devices connected to the dock. If a TB4 device is removed and re-connected while the system is operating, it does not get enumerated into the same spot, and may end up with less operating bandwidth.Specifically, if I boot with a 40gbps SSD connected, it enumerates as /dev/nvme1n0 and operates at full speed. If disconnected and re-attached, the logs show that the PCIe address space is unavailable, so it enumerates as a 20gbps device on /dev/sda. This may be a Linux-specific issue with the way PCIe space is enumerated, and I've read that things may have improved with the next (beta) Linux 6.13 kernel.
