First unit was a Spex95, that only lasted 4 months until the electrical contacts melted. I replaced it with the Spex55. The second unit lasted 14 months. The contacts function fine, some other component has failed. In both units the contacts in the water heater can be heard when activated or deactivated. They are loud in a residential bathroom near bedrooms. But, like a train horn, you get used to it. What you don't get used to is the cost of replacing them every few months or a year. The first unit, Spex95, was installed using <36' of 6 awg copper wire on a 50amp breaker. The second unit was installed using the same wire with a 30amp breaker. The Spex55 produced warm water here in northern Illinois while the Spex95 produced hot water. Either way, I would not recommend these water heaters. It seems like the technology just isn't to par yet. I say this after reading countless reviews on plumbing websites. Best of luck!
