Call me crazy but I did it. I setup an emergency water system in my home. This system is only for folks that have more than one water source. So many choices of seaflo pumps. I made the better choice with the 5.5 gallon and 60 PSI. I got a water line to the kitchen sink, toilet and cloths washer. No more 5 gallon buckets to carry up stairs from my pond to flush the stinking toilet during a power outage. Despite all the negative reviews I bought this pump because a friend of mine lives off grid and has been using this brand pump for years in his cabin.ProsPump can be run on ether a 12 v DC power supply or a 12 v DC batteryVery good pressure in my sink. I am impressed.Loud in the basement but quiet upstairs. Unlike my old 120 AC pump it was so loud you could hear it running on the first and second floor.Pressure tank helps the pump to shut down quickly when no water is being used.Good suction up to 50 ft.Conspoor suction after 100 ftToilet fills very slowly.More then one user slows the water flow and pressure down.Parts I used to build the system.Seaflo 51-Series pumpSeaflo Accumulator Tank 0.25 oz30 amp 12 v dc regulated power supply (optional)1/2 inch ID (internal dimension) pex1/2 inch ID (internal dimension) reinforced vinyl hose. Like a UV water filter a bigger pressure tank and a large 100 gallon storage tank.Keep in mind with the suction, depending on if you are trying to pull water up, down or on the level. The type of pipe size you use will effect the performance. I found the pump will not pull water 50 ft up hill and another 50 ft on the level to the inside of my house without help of a booster pump. When I have water 100 ft away on the level or going down hill to the pump it can pull in the water in just fine.
