Love my GoWISE..........This thing absolutely rocks. We had a Instapot and a power cooker before and neither could hold a candle to this GoWise unit. The Gowise is so much better quality than the two we had before. Ceramic coated pan not teflon so it's much more durable and cleans up in seconds, so nice nothing sticks to it!! The display on this unit is much better quality and you'll know it as soon as you touch the control buttons. Very nice display unit and keeps you up on the pressure inside, that is very nice to know. No other unit I found has that feature. I love that! Another great feature this pot has is this' say your power goes off for a minute or so during cooking. When it comes back on this pot starts off right were it left off without anyone even touching the unit again. No resetting anything, now thats nice!! As long as it don't stay off too long your dinner will still be served very close to your schedule even if you forget your cooking...Hey' it happens, I'm old leave me alone. Another thing that helps my old arse out here is It's controls are much easier to operate than the other pressure cookers I had, I have yet to find myself needing to look back in the manual for anything after the first use unlike my others done. Very easy to operate.. If you want a large pot for large meals like a pot roast or two then this is the one for you. We cook large meals at times for family visits and we also use it to cook large pots of meat to reheat later to make up other meals for a couple days. It's very easy to do with a large 12qt or a GoWise (14qt) pressure cooker and either will work out fantastic to make your life so much easier with a busy schedule. Both 12/14 have a stainless lid unlike the smaller model GoWise pots that have plastic lids like other makes. Hope GoWise changes them all to stainless, fit is much nicer and reviews suggest these larger pots seal better with stainless than plastic. In fact I almost passed on this unit from all the bad reviews until I noticed most all the negs were only for the plastic lid models. So think about it, you can buy the largest & cheapest cut of meat that fits in one of these pots and in under 20 minutes time it will come out so tender you can cut it with a butter knife. Most times we simply use the fork alone and no knife it is just that tender. We had always used a slow cooker in the past but not one time since we bought a pressure cooker have we used one again. I think the wife sold it in our rummage sale because' this does both slow/fast cooking if needed. Another feature these have unlike most other pressure cookers is the pressure is controllable so potatoes and similar foods won't come out as mush. Whatever pot you purchase make sure it has a "controllable pressure" button & not just time adjustable. That's all most do is they shorten the time and that's ok unless something else is in the pot you want to cook longer, adjusting pressure down allows all items to cook just right all together perfectly as one meal with no mush. The flavor of the food cooked in pressure cookers is much better than standard way of cooking, that's highly noticeable and it is a fact. Something I learned if you cook smothered pork chops in one, toss the chops in the pot with a bit of oil on the bottom like your frying them and brown both sides a minute or two, I use meat/stew button but watch this setting its fast/hot...Keep oil in the pan!! Then after brown put whatever else you want in with them and pressure cook like normal. Browning greatly seals in the juices and keeps them from drying out, they'll melt in your mouth. Buy any pressure cooker it will change the way you cook forever but' buy the 12 or 14 qt Gowise so you're the one who changes everyone you knows way of eating and they'll forever love you for it!! Watching pressure cooking YouTube videos makes you a pro very fast. Check out Rick Mammana he's our go to man when it comes to pressure cooker recipes. We thank you again Rick!! It's by far the best kitchen item we ever bought, that includes our new $1300 convection wall oven and our KitchenAid stand mixer we love so very much..MMM Cake after a GoWise meal...Now I'm hungry again... Heyyy babe', get that mixer ready please...lol*Not sure why it took me so long to get an instant pot but I absolutely love this one. Getting it in the copper was wonderful as well it is beautiful appliance.I cook for potlucks all the time. I find this to be a great tool. Sometimes however, it does not seem to seal properly. Besides that, no issues as of yet.Let me just say, I've been pressure cooking for years. I looked into some of the new "electric" versions and saw no reason to change. Pressure cooking already shortens cooking times, meat and poultry is already more juicy and tender than oven baking and pressure cooking leaves more nutrients in your food. So, I had decided to stay with my old trustworthy friend. With all that said, I finally had to start looking for replacement parts to my old pressure cooker. So this was a good time to look into the new electric ones. What I found was most are small like a crock pot. I cook big. I finally found this 14qt and decided to give it a try. I love love love this. I have cooked several beef roasts with all the vege's, a deer roast and all the side veges, a whole 7lb chicken, and for Thanksgiving , my final test was a 15.7 lb whole turkey fully stuffed and prepped just as I would If it were going in the oven-=-perfection! If you're a experienced with pressure cooking, then you're ahead of the game. Once I stuffed my turkey, it just slid in perfectly with breast side facing up. For a larger bird, you would need to detach the legs and wings and probably just lay them on top of the main body. Removal was so easy. each side of the breast came of the bone in a whole piece, the legs game free easily and the rest I use a slotted spatula to lift out for easy de-boning. The feature I loved about this is that the cooking liner lifts out and I could poor the wonderful broth through a strainer into another container. There was enough to make grave and to also freeze and store some for another day. With each use, the liner cleans up with ease-that is a big perc. Wash the liner, the lid and wipe the outside of the pressure cooker, and then put away. For Thanksgiving there's so many dishes and people in my kitchen, that it was great to have the pressure cooker not taking up space on my stove, and allowing other dishes to cook and bake.MY ONLY ISSUE was figuring out the control panel. The manual (like so many anymore) is confusing and unclear. Ex. If you use the presets for poultry, it is set fo a r smaller chicken. I new my chicken needed 25 minutes actual cooking time. I ended up finding someone on youtube that was testing this product and found the information I needed. If you're not used to pressure cooking there are lots of timetables and information out there. And if you're not cooking big, this one is too big for you.I have not used any of the other features. I'm sure I will eventually. Overall, electric is good. No more watching the stove for the pressure cooker to come to pressure and then watching to make sure it maintains the proper pressure. It has freed up my stove, my time and cooks great! I may put a smaller version on my Christmas list, so I can make smaller meals when it just hubby and me.This pressure cooker replaced another 8 quart electric pressure cooker that stopped working. I'm now actually glad the old one broke because this one is so much better. Well worth the price. The wife loves it and we all know what that means... Highly recommend.Love it because it is a canner for canning my garden. It was wonderful.I'm disabled and though it's a wee bit heavy I love being able to prepare meals again! On the counter it's the perfect height to use in my wheelchair. Batch cooking is back and a huge help for a disabled cook. Dried beans and rice are made in huge portions and frozen. Using the saute setting I browned 3# of ground beef with peppers and onions and salt and pepper. Again, put in bags, freeze and you've got the base for a quick meal without standing at a stove forever. I can go on but you get the idea.*Whenever applicable I review products as I use them with my disabilities. I hope there's a way to tag these and others. Finding affordable products that are easy to use are a big deal to us.I just realised that there is no "MANUAL setting", that's the one I use the most, to get around this you pick a setting and adjust the time, am taking 2 points off, it is also limited to a max of 1 hour of pressure time "but only in multi grain mode", the other pressure modes max out between 30 and 45 minutes, tech support was helpful in figuring this out. I expected this to take up more space than it does, great. It is not made in USA, it's written right on the box "made in China" but so is everything else these days. The lid is made in such a way as to make cleaning the inside of the lid more difficult than an Instant Pot, The size is great, don't have to hack appart a leg of lamb it will fit in this. Heats up quiclky enough "depending on how much stuff you have in it of course". Cooked up beef filet trimings white skin and all, everything was nice and tender and made a nice stew, so stew setting works well for the quantity I made about 32 minutes. The lid screws on the opposite direction of what we are used to "counter clockwise to seal, clockwise to open" takes about half a second to figure out. Am happy with the purchase. The interface really is not that intuitive and the lid is often very difficult to get to seal. But I put that aside and decided to keep it because I love a pressure cooker. Then we put a roast in it and it cooked for 15 minutes and just died. No power, no lights, nothing. There doesn't seem to be a way to reset it. Very dissappointed in this product. I've looked online and found others complaining about this. One guy made a youtube video on how to take it apart and replace a heat monitor that is a safety feature that blew on his. No thanks, I don't feel like rebuilding a pressure cooker today. It should have at least lasted a couple of years.Throw 8kg of meat with your favorite spices then throw it in portioned containers with some some greens and carbs and you got your meals for the next few weeks. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Unless you pick the wrong spices and find yourself eating something terrible for a month and then it's Stressy pesty lemon zesty.I love this cooker. With our summer heat rising into 40celsius, I do not use my oven. I cook big meals in the cooker and there is no big heat rise in my kitchen. I stacked steak, potatoes, and corn in it at the same time for a dinner for 4. It was yummy, tender, and healthier than frying. I also love that I can cook meat from frozen when I didn't remember to thaw it, and still get tender, tasty meat. I sauted chicken wings, then used a rack to set them on while pressure cooking and they were tender and juicy. I am anxious to try pressure canning and using it when I make my yoghurt.Práctica. El único inconveniente es que, al finalizar cada proceso de cocción, se activa de manera automática el modo "keep warm".
